Collections

The Jesuit Archives & Research Center houses records for seventeen past and current administrative provinces of the Society of Jesus in the United States. These include the Buffalo, California, Central and Southern, Chicago, Chicago-Detroit, Detroit, East, Maryland, Midwest, Missouri, New England, New Orleans, New York, Northeast, Oregon, West, and Wisconsin Provinces. These collections consist of materials such as biographical records, personal papers, manuscripts, photographs, records of Jesuit institutions, periodicals and books authored by Jesuits, as well as works about American religious history and the Society of Jesus. The archives also houses artifacts and memorabilia of individual Jesuits and Jesuit institutions.

In addition to the province collections, the archives houses the records of the governing body of the Society of Jesus in the US, the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States.
