Abstract: Saint Louis University (SLU) is a private, Jesuit, research university located in Saint Louis, Missouri. Established in 1818, SLU is the first institute of higher education founded west of the Mississippi River and the second oldest Jesuit university in the United States. The collection contains topic files, correspondence, publications, ledgers, journals, photographs, prints, and ephemera related to the history and administration of Saint Louis University from its acquisition by the Society of Jesus in 1829 to 2013.  This collection was compiled from various sources by Province Archives Staff.

Conditions governing access:   This collection is open for research. Access to original glass plate negatives is limited to special appointments because the images are fragile.
