Fifth Annual Jesuit Student Research Symposium
Together with the History Department and the Office of Mission and Identity at Saint Louis University, the Jesuit Archives & Research Center announces the fifth annual Jesuit Student Research Symposium, to be held on April 26, 2019. This year’s keynote speaker is Fr. Sean Dempsey, SJ. Doors will open at 8:30 AM, and the welcome address will be delivered at 9:00. The schedule of events may be viewed here. Light refreshments will be provided. Street parking is plentiful; for handicap-accessible parking or more information on the building’s accessibility, please email archives(at)jesuits.org.
This year’s symposium will explore the history of Jesuit engagement with, and influence on, American culture. Undergraduate and graduate students will present on topics that address any time period or discipline, including but not limited to history, music, theater, science, higher education, and exploration. Although the application period is now closed, the full call for presentations and application cover page can be seen here.
The Jesuit Archives & Research Center is open for use as a general study space. The study spaces are available from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays and JARC events. Such closures will be posted on this page. Guidelines regarding the use of the Jesuit Archives as a study space can be read here.
